I can't be arsed
In a couple of months it'll be two years since I last recorded any music. I think my blogging is going the same way.

Having ideas is hard enough without going to all the extra effort of dressing them up for public consumption. I could finally write that post about how the USA is the new USSR, but I just can't find the motivation to put it down in well-formed sentences for the benefit of 6 or 7 largely uninterested readers. I'd rather just explain it to you in person, ideally in a rambling, disjointed way while slightly stoned. This happened with my tunes as well - I'd put together 8 bars of Martian-NRG and then just sit listening to it, thinking how much work for how little reward it'd be to arrange a whole track from it and add vocals.

So, that's where I'm at.

i read LJ every day, your's included when you post, but I just can't be fucked posting any more

it's probably my own retarded attempt to subvert how the world seems to be going with every other bugger updating each other via some electronic medium every time they feel a fart brewing

you should definitely keep recording music though

I'll bite as well: Shut it, I'm interested.
That's 3 of us so far.
All you have to do now is make a filter so we can start bitching about the rest of 'em.

I was just downloading stuff from your site the other day. Catching up on stuff I never downloaded at the time in some mp3s cases I'm afraid, and feeling inevitably, irritatingly nostalgic about the mid-00s and not appreciating stuff enough in it's moment. (though "Librarians" was a big summer '06 ipod hit for me. I don't have one anymore.)

I think the 03-07 McGazz solo works make up a fantastic boday of work that
both evokes and questions the of it's decade of creation. I can't believe that stuff won't eventually be discovered by a wider audience, it's too good., I have to remind myself that the likes of "Ice Cream and Castles" "The Clan McDonald" "Eye Heart NY" and "Last of a Generation" (the even more downbeat twin to MLG's farewell "Emphemera"are known to just a handful of people.

btw, is "The Music Stops" bit in "Last of a Generation" an intentional back-reference to the similiarly titled track on "Unfashionable Hi-Fi"?

I'm with you brother. I'm also suffering from 'can't be arsed syndrome' both in music and blogging.

I agree with Tam.

Tweeting was the new blogging, but its drop-out rate indicates that doing bugger all online is the new Twitter.

Unless you're Stephen Fry, who apparently breathes via an iPhone app.

As I'm a late comer to the whole thing, so it'll be a while yet before I'm bored.

Would like to know what you make of the new "Star Trek Babies"?

Write a song about the USA becoming the new USSR and you can cut down on the effort a bit? I read your stuff, I just don't always know how to respond.

Comes to us all. I've got an album's worth of tunes in various states of undress, but a whole load of other things seem to take priority right now.

I read, albeit not so regularly (sorry...I am too busy dancing, photographing etc) and I also listen to your music.

I've lost count of your supporters, but please continue.
